Taking up the Eco-Ethical Banner with Rags2Riches

They do so by working with these women, giving them access to the formal economy, increasing their incomes and providing them with additional skills-based financial and health training. Some of their eco-ethical products include envelope clutches, beach carry-alls, shopping bags, tote bags, and necklaces which you can only find in the Philippines.

Since Rags2Riches began in 2007, they have won numerous awards and recognition both local and abroad for their advocacy and achievements as a social enterprise. To date, top Filipino designers Rajo Laurel, Amina Aranaz-Alunan and Oliver Tolentino have collaborated with R2R to create handbag collections that connect its women weavers to true eco-ethical styles and trends. Its founder-partner and current CEO, Reese Fernandez-Ruiz, was selected as an inaugural Rolex Young Laureate by the Rolex Foundation in Switzerland in recognition of her work. She is one of five Rolex Young Laureates. In 2010, Rags2Riches linked up with their current investor-partner, Lichtenstein Global Trust Venture Philanthropy.

Ever since supporting their advocacy, Bounty Fresh has provided Rags2Riches Inc. with a venue with which to introduce their products and be recognized in the fashionably chic Greenbelt 5. We have also teamed up with Amina Aranaz-Alunan and Rags2Riches Inc. to produce a one-of-a-kind mercato bag to celebrate and support eco-ethical fashion and women’s empowerment.
